Ralph shared a curated selection of his favorite tracks and the behind-the-scenes stories that shaped his career and his deep connection to Martha’s Vineyard.

Featured Tracks & Stories

Livingston Taylor | "Carolina Day" Album: Livingston Taylor (1970) "Liv is a management client of mine and a Vineyard staple. We first met in 1976 when I promoted his show in my hometown of Allentown, PA, alongside Dave Mason and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. He has remained one of my favorite artists and most cherished friends from that day to this."

Ellis Paul | "The World Ain’t Slowin' Down" Featured in: "Me, Myself & Irene" (2000) "This track gained international fame through the Farrelly Brothers' film starring Jim Carrey. I go way back with Peter Farrelly—from my days in commercial real estate while he was working odd jobs before hitting it big in Hollywood. Ellis became a local fixture on the Island, playing annually at Wintertide and Alex’s Place at the invitation of our dear friend Tony Lombardi."

Martin Sexton | "Black Sheep" Label: Eastern Front Records (1996) "After several years of managing Ellis Paul, Martin approached me for representation during his formative years. Black Sheep was his debut CD, released by Island resident Jerry Potts. Like Ellis, Martin’s early career was defined by soulful performances at Wintertide and the Hot Tin Roof."

The Push Stars | "Everything Shines" Label: Capitol Records (1999) "This release put the band on the map. Their live shows at the Hot Tin Roof and other MV venues were legendary. This specific track reached a massive audience after being featured on the There’s Something About Mary soundtrack—directed, of course, by our friends the Farrelly Brothers."

Bob Dylan (feat. Stu Kimball) | "Someday Baby" Album: Modern Times (2006) "I worked closely with my longtime friend Stu Kimball, who served as Dylan’s guitarist for 15 years. This album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album. In Rolling Stone, Dylan called this group 'the best band I’ve ever been in.' 'Someday Baby' also took home the Grammy for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance."

Antje Duvekot | "Dandelion" Album: Big Dream Boulevard (2006) "Produced by Séamus Egan of Solas, Antje’s debut on Black Wolf Records (a label Ellis Paul and I started) earned her a Boston Music Award and the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. I managed Antje for years; she is a phenomenal talent who frequently tours with Ellis."

Bruce Springsteen | "Point Blank" Album: The River (1980) "In 1981, I had the honor of promoting Bruce at the University of Notre Dame. Meeting him was a life-changing experience. Months later, I was invited to see the band in London. Driving from the hotel to Wembley with the band is a memory I’ll never forget. Watching Bruce work—his intensity, power, and vulnerability—was a masterclass in artistry."

The Del Fuegos | "I Still Want You" Released: 1984 "One of my favorite Boston club bands. Today, I serve on the board of Right Turn, a recovery center founded by the band’s drummer, Woody Geissmann. Woody is a dear friend and partner in Rock Bottom, a rock opera I am currently managing. We are casting now following a soundtrack recording featuring Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), and Stu Kimball. Our mission is to show that recovery is possible and you can still rock!"

Laufey | "From The Start" Released: 2024 "Laufey was one of my standout students at Berklee. She and her father even acted as my tour guides during a trip to Iceland! She is one of the hardest-working and most talented musicians I’ve had the pleasure of teaching. She has already won two Grammys and is currently on a sold-out world tour. Watching her success has been an amazing journey."

Livingston Taylor (feat. Carly Simon) | "Best of Friends" Album: There You Are Again (2006) "A beautiful collaboration between two longtime Vineyard friends. This song perfectly captures the spirit of the Island. Livingston is such a foundational part of my Vineyard story and my entire career in the music business."
